• How do I know what size heating system my house needs?

  There are many factors that go into planning the perfect heating system for your home, such as the square footage of your house, the climate, the number and type of windows in the home, insulation, and even the number of people living in the house. • Should I repair my home’s heating system or replace it?

  This comes down to how old your current heating system is, and how well it has been maintained. The average home heating system lasts about 15 years, after which time it is probably obsolete, inefficient, and not worth putting a lot of money into for repairs. The professionals at Infinity Heating & Air will evaluate your current system and tell you if there is a simple issue that is resolvable, or if you need to be planning a replacement.

• How often should I get my heating system serviced?

  We recommend you get your system professionally serviced every year. Planning your service for when the heating season ends in the spring/summer helps you avoid last minute emergency service calls, and avoid needing any costly repairs during peak season.

• Is there any heating system maintenance I can do myself?

  Many homeowners will find it simple enough to replace the filters in their furnace or boiler themselves. Doing this every 1-2 months during the operating season will keep the airflow consistent in your system and help save energy.

  Another easy way to optimize your heating system is to keep the area around any heating units uncluttered. Have at least 2 to 3 feet of space around your main unit, and 5 feet of clearance above it. It’s important to leave adequate space for airflow and to prevent any fire hazards. Clean ductwork, baseboards, and radiators regularly to eliminate any dust buildup. Your heating system will work much more efficiently, and you’ll notice an improvement in your indoor air quality as well.
