Straight answers, no jargon.

The heating & cooling questions our neighbors ask most — answered by the techs who fix them.

General

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Graham, WA and serve 35 communities across the South Puget Sound — including Tacoma, Puyallup, Spanaway, Lakewood, Olympia, Federal Way, Bonney Lake, Gig Harbor, and more. See the full list on our service areas page, and if your town isn't on it, call — we can usually help.

Are you really open 24/7?

Yes. Heating and cooling problems don't keep office hours, so neither do we. Call (253) 740-5135 any time — nights, weekends, and holidays included — and a real person will pick up.

Are you a family-owned business?

We are. Infinity was founded by Ken and Melissa Brasmer and grew from the family kitchen table into a family-operated team. We treat customers like family, friends, and neighbors — it's the whole reason the company exists.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — promotional financing is available through Synchrony, so major purchases don't have to wait. Apply today, take time to pay. See our financing page for details. Subject to credit approval.

Repairs & Emergencies

My furnace stopped working at night — what should I do?

First, check the basics: thermostat batteries and settings, the breaker, and the furnace switch (it looks like a light switch near the unit). If it still won't run, call us — our emergency line answers 24/7 and we'll walk you through next steps or dispatch a tech.

Why is my AC blowing warm air?

Common causes include a clogged filter, a tripped breaker, low refrigerant from a leak, or a failed capacitor. Swap the filter and check the breaker first; if that doesn't fix it, it's time for a professional diagnosis before a small problem becomes a compressor replacement.

Should I repair or replace my system?

A good rule of thumb: if the system is over 12–15 years old and the repair costs more than a third of replacement, replacement usually wins — especially with how far heat pump efficiency has come. We'll always give you an honest recommendation with both options priced out, never a hard sell.

Heat Pumps & Mini-Splits

Do heat pumps work in Washington's climate?

Western Washington is close to ideal heat pump country. Our winters are chilly but rarely extreme, so a properly sized heat pump heats efficiently all season — and gives you air conditioning for the summer heat waves as a bonus.

What's the difference between a heat pump and a mini-split?

A mini-split is a heat pump — just a ductless one. Traditional heat pumps use your home's ductwork; mini-splits deliver heating and cooling through wall-mounted indoor units, which makes them perfect for additions, garages, ADUs, and homes without ducts.

Can one mini-split system serve multiple rooms?

Yes — multi-zone systems connect several indoor units to one outdoor unit, each with its own temperature control. It's one of the most flexible ways to zone comfort room by room.

Maintenance & Air Quality

How often should my system be serviced?

Twice a year is ideal: cooling in spring, heating in fall. Regular tune-ups keep efficiency high, catch small problems early, and protect most manufacturer warranties. Ask about our maintenance plans to make it automatic.

How often should I change my filter?

Every 1–3 months for standard 1-inch filters — more often with pets or during wildfire smoke season. Thicker media filters can go 6–12 months. A clean filter is the cheapest efficiency upgrade there is.

What can I do about wildfire smoke and allergies?

Indoor air quality upgrades make a real difference in the Northwest: high-MERV media filtration, whole-home air cleaners, and proper ventilation all help. We'll assess your system and recommend IAQ solutions that fit how you live.
